This is a condition where the puppy develops dangerously low blood sugars, becomes very lethargic and is completely preventable. It is very common for puppies to refuse food when placed in a new environment. Great care needs to be taken to ensure the puppy is eating and drinking sufficiently. I recommend placing a pea sized amount of nutritional gel or syrup on the puppies tongue 3 times per day until the puppy is eating regularly to ensure sufficient blood sugar and to avoid a hypoglycemic crisis or even death of a puppy.
Your puppy will come home following full antiparasitic prophylaxis and their first Vaccinations. Your puppy will not have full immunity until they receive 2 additional vaccination boosters. They should not co-mingle with other dogs at dog parks or at dog friendly stores until after the last booster.
All of our puppies are essentially low to no shedding and will require regular hair cuts. They will not be allowed at the groomers until after they receive their Rabies vaccine. They will receive this at 16 weeks. You may need to trim your puppy’s bangs or bottom prior to this visit for vision and hygiene.
All of our puppy parents are genetically tested for inheritable diseases relevant and recommended for their breed. We guarantee that our puppies are genetically clear for any life threatening genetic defects or diseases.
We have a 2 year health guarantee that covers communicable infections and inherited genetic disorders outlined in the breed specific genetic health report. This also covers life threatening defects of the heart, kidney, or liver as well as moderate to severe hip dysplasia.
